Danube Technologies

Danube Technologies is an American software subsidiary of CollabNet, offering products for the improvement of management and engineering processes through Scrum. Danube is the developer and publisher of a Scrum application lifecycle management tool – ScrumWorks Basic and ScrumWorks Pro, for Scrum project management. Danube also operates a ScrumCORE training division, which provides Scrum training through scheduled public courses and private, on-site training.
==History==
Danube Technologies was founded in Seattle, Washington in August 2000 by brothers Laszlo and Victor Szalvay. At that time, Danube was a project services company, managing outsourced software projects with both offshore and onshore models. In an effort to improve its own processes, Danube adopted Agile project management methods for its own projects and began to hire process specialists and developers with an agile focus. Danube subsequently shifted its business focus to consultancy for other software organizations development processes, mainly through Agile methods and Scrum.
Danube continued development of its internal Scrum management tool, ScrumWorks, and released it as a commercial product in August 2004. In January 2005 it was released as freeware. Two years later the company released an enhanced version of the freeware product called ScrumWorks Pro. Currently, more than half of the companies included in the Fortune 100 list of top companies utilize one version of ScrumWorks. The company’s clients included Google, Amazon.com, Intuit, Intel, Siemens, Oracle Corporation, Motorola, and AMD.
Danube began offering Scrum coaching and training services in August 2004 for the State of Washington. Shortly thereafter, Danube began teaching Introduction to Scrum, Scrum Master certification, Product Owner, and ScrumWorks Training courses. The company currently retains three certified Scrum Trainers (CSTs).
In February 2010, Danube was acquired by CollabNet, an American company that provides development and Agile ALM products and services for cloud computing. In March 2011, CollabNet integrated ScrumWorks Pro into Codesion (now called CloudForge), a public cloud service providing access, provisioning, and hosting of open source software tools as platform-as-a-service, hosting Apache Subversion, Git, CVS, Trac, Bugzilla, and WebDAV.
